Obviously, the first thing you need to do is find a solid spot in your yard where you can place your pile. Choose a location that would not bother anyone and it also is convenient for you to be able to access the place. Now, you can begin to gather things that are suitable for composting. You can collect fruit and vegetable scraps in the kitchen, food waste you did not manage to finish from your plate, grass clippings from mowing the lawn. Add tree leaves and small sticks as well. But do not add meat or dairy. Those items will attract pests and odor.

Easy Steps to Start Your Own Compost Pile at Home

When you gather up all of your materials heap them into layers within a leaf compost pile. Start with a Habit layer of leaves on the bottom followed by an extra layer of your food scraps. Continue adding layers like this until the pile is as large as you want it, Following that, just add a little water so it stays wet. Lastly give your compost time to sit. Will still need a month or so for everything to fully break down. Remember to still add things here and  there. And before you know it, your plants will find themselves in fantastic soil.
